Attorney Adam Bender

S. Adam Bender, an accomplished attorney, has joined Davis and Associates as the managing partner for the Waco area. He earned his BA in Professional Studies from the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor in 2007 and went on to complete his JD at the University of Tulsa in 2014. Prior to attending law school, Adam gained valuable experience as an oil and gas land manager in Texas, specializing in clearing residential drilling sites.

During his time in law school, Adam served on the Energy Law Journal while also working as a licensed abstractor in Oklahoma. Following graduation, he embarked on a career with the U.S. Department of Energy, initially joining the Office of General Counsel at Southwestern Power Administration. In this role, he handled various property matters, employment litigation, and energy development projects. Adam later transitioned to the Division of Reliability Compliance and Transmission Policy, focusing on NERC and FERC related issues, particularly Order 693 compliance and transmission policy topics for Southwestern.

In 2020, Adam made the decision to join Witt, McGregor and Bourland, P.L.L.C. (“WMB”), a prestigious law firm based in Waco, Texas, to be closer to his family. During his time at WMB, he gained extensive experience representing landowners in oil and gas matters and eminent domain proceedings. Additionally, Adam entered the field of insurance defense, handling third-party and first-party claims, while maintaining his focus on landowner issues.

Now, as part of Davis and Associates, Adam brings his expertise and compassionate approach to help families navigate divorce and custody matters. His extensive background includes lease negotiation, water disposal agreements, surface use agreements, renewable energy leases, easements, utility facilities agreements, as well as initial negotiations, special commissioner hearings, and litigation in eminent domain proceedings. With his diverse skill set, Adam is well-equipped to address a wide range of legal issues and provide comprehensive assistance to his clients.

Brendan Davis pursued his undergraduate degree in Political Science at Miami University in Oxford, Ohio, before attending Loyola University Miami School of Law, where he earned his Juris Doctor.
